Taking A Break Already

Hello All...

Hope this email finds you well. It's only a few weeks into the school year, and we are off to take a break. Well...it's more of a celelbration. Tina and I are celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary, and we are going away. Emily will be staying with my folks (thanks again mom and dad). So, the next update will be in about two weeks.

Hello All...

Hope you are doing well. We have just have a great time being away for a while. By the way, if you're wondering, that is a boa contrictor on Emily. This was a part of the Friday afternoon activities at 'Camp Xtreme'.

We got the pictures back and wanted to share with you how brave our little girl is. Not too much to report other than we are having another preview gathering next Sunday for our youth congregation.

Going On Holidays

Hello All...

Hope you are doing well. Just wanted to let you know, the Hill family is taking a much needed break after a very busy summer so far. It feels like we haven't even had summer yet.

Anyway, we wanted to introduce you to Dorothy. Dorothy is our main contact at Big Trout Lake. While we were there, she told us that she have been praying for the reserve for many years...and that her prayers are being answered.

Please pray for Dorothy that she would continue to remain faithful to God as she continues to live at Big Trout. Pray also that God would grant us here in Oakville the opportunity to renovate the church and to build a much needed day care centre.

Also, next time we post a blog...we will show you some pictures of the camp we ran here at The Sanctuary in Oakville. We will talk to you all in a couple of weeks. Have a great week.

Keep The Summer Goin'

Hello All...

Hope your doing well. I want you to meet Fabian from Big Trout Lake. Fabian is one of the boys who was always hanging out with us from 8am to about 10pm, when we told him he had to go home. He is a great kid, and we asked him what he wanted to be when he grows up. He said, 'I want to be a bible school teacher just like you guys'.

Please begin to pray for Fabian. He could be the one who brings change to Big Trout Lake. We as the eRuption team and a church are praying that in a few years, Fabian is helping us run camp. Next week we will introduce to someone else from Big Trout. Thanks again for your support. Have a great week.

Finally Back Home!!

Hello All...

What a wonderful time at Big Trout Lake. We had a great camp, and are already talking about next year. We topped out at 65 kids...that was awesome. We did come to the reserve at an ackward time. There was one suicide, one murder, and someone drown just a month before we got there. But through that God was able to do some incredible things. I was able to meet the youth whose father was murdered by his brother. We were able to talk about that and he mentioned that he wasn't worth saving, and I was able to share how God doesn't give up on us...no matter how old we are.

In the next few months, we are looking to have an eRuption website up. We are already beginning to talk about next year. Also, the chief of Big Trout is open to us using the hockey arena for next year's camp and making renovations to the church and adding on. Thanks again for your support. Have a great week.

Well, we are off and running tomorrow morning!! On our way to Big Trout Lake in northern Ontario. We will be driving for 24 hours and then on Saturday, we will fly for one hour to the reserve. We ask that you pray for three things specifically:

1. Pray that God would work through us.
2. Pray that God would use us.
3. Pray that God would change us.

The Countdown Is On!!

Hello all...hope your week was great. Emily is finally out of school, this past Friday we celebrated Canada Day. The Sanctuary thought that it was going to be a light week, but the opposite was true for the long weekend. We saw many new faces. Also we took the youth out to lunch. There were about 25 youth, and including parents...we had 33!! We know it's God doing something in the lives of the students, because some of them had friends with them.

We only have 9 more days until Big Trout Lake. God has been amazing this week. In two days He provided $7000!!! Whatever is left this year will go to the children for Christmas boxes again, and to make some repairs on the church that we run camp out of.

Finally...because of the long weekend, The Sanctuary thought it was going to be a light day. The opposite was true. We had a great turnout. There has been a couple coming for the past month. The husband (Justin) was raised Catholic, but really enjoys coming. His sister is in the youth group, and they came out to lunch with us today. The men of The Sanctuary are playing flag football next week. He asked me if I was going because he wanted to know someone who was going. What a neat thing God is beginning to do in his and his family's life.

What A Weekend

Hello All...

What a wild and wooly weekend!! Two amazing things happened.

First, I had the opportunity to baptize Emily. It was a beautiful time for both Tina and I. Emily had asked about being baptized earlier this month, and when we asked her why she said she wanted to let everyone know that she had Jesus in her heart.

Second, we had our first youth congregation gathering...Frequency 412!! It was unbelievable. To see the kids take the reins of this was incredible. We had 37 students in attendance and with adults...it came to 44 total!! Our next gathering is on Sunday, July 31.

Finally, Wal-Mart called me last week and pitched in an additional $2000 for the Big Trout Lake trip. We are done with our fundraising and are putting some finishing touches on before we leave on July 13.

Thanks again for all of your support...the Hill family is truly blessed by all of you. Have a great week.

Hello All...

Hope your week is going well. We are ready for summer!! The youth have been in exams all week, and everything is winding down...but for Sanctuary Student Ministries we are gearing up. Just a couple of things for you to keep in prayer:

1. Frequency412...our first youth congregation begins this Sunday!!
2. Big Trout Lake...pray for God to use the eRuption team as they go to reach the native children of the reserve.
3. The Hill Family...that we can survive the summer of exciting activites!!

A New Era

Hope you all have had a great week. I'm still getting the hang of this 'blogging' stuff, but I'm getting better each day. Just wanted to ask you to keep us in prayer as we begin a new era with Sanctuary Student Ministries. Frequency 412 is our new youth congregation beginning this coming Sunday at the theartres.

This serves a two-fold purpose. One, it's to give our students an opportunity to use their gifts and talents that they have and raise up future leaders. Two, it's a way for our students to bring their un-churched friends. This week please pray specifically for our first preview gathering. We are praying for 50 students to attend. Thanks again for all your support for what we do here in Canada. God bless each of you.

hello all...everything is great up here in Canada. Just looking forward to Big Trout Lake!! We sent up 43 boxes of stuff...18 of which are donations from churches. Wow...how exciting is that. We are also looking forward to getting down to the states to visit family and friends. That is happening in August. Other than that...Emily has a week and a half left of school.

Our youth group has been growing the last month. Usually we are shrinking during the summer months. But God has been blessing our ministry. Thanks again for all of your prayers and support over the years. May God bless you for your obedience.
